Free Drop each Year before league actions take place

this will lead to stupid contracts cause people will know they have an easy out. This is a terrible idea in a salary league. Teams with more money can bid stupidly and just free drop each year and re-win the player ---
If this passes there should be stipulations

I voted no for the same reasons state above - there aren't any consequences regarding big contracts if a drop can happen without penalty.

We have over half the league voted. What would be a giood stipulations to make for this ?

One stipulation could be:
*(As mentioned above) - you cannot free drop someone you just signed the last season. They must have been signed prior.

I also think it should be made so if you use your free drop on them, you can't rebid on them that Offseason. This would eliminate the biggest issue I have of saving $$ and still getting the star player. Again we have to assume these free drops will come with bigger salaries allowing those teams more leverage in FA -
If the 2 stipulations were they can't be someone signed in previous FA cycle and you can't bid on anyone you free drop, I'd be ok with it. I still would prefer to just not go down that road.. cause even then.. you sign a 4 or 5 year contract you get out of it after year 2 but you only won the player cause of the 4 year or 5 year multiplier. That's why I think my 2nd stip above would be the main key for me. If they can't just re-sign them cheaper then cool -- they can earn themselves salary relief elsewhere, but they can't immediately just rebuy the same dude cheaper.

I totally agree with that. Just like waivers now you can't cut someone and bid on them for a cheaper salary or longer contract thats not fair at all.
The one stipulations I was thinking is you can not drop someone over say 2 year contract. That would eliminate someone dropping a 4 or 5 year contract for nothing for the fun of it.

Only new managers would have this option.

Everyone should have that option.

I think it's a great add for new owners to have one free drop. But not for existing owners

Maybe new owners get a freebie but existing owners get 1 every other season. Use it, can’t the next season. Don’t use it, you can, but then not after (and so on).
That would allow a new owner 2 in a row.

I mean you gotta think for the new guys coming in taking over a team that’s more then likey a shit show team like well myself and of course you have a player on the team that’s horrible and isn’t worth anything but then you gotta pay him the like 3rd or 4th most on your team so I think it’s totally fair to have a new owner do a free drop. It makes the team go after FA with the cap that is being given back to that team to compete.
